It's Giving Tuesday! Sure, Tuesday comes each week, but today is THE day to celebrate the generosity and goodness of the human spirit. In the nonprofit world it's a day to appreciate the people who make our work and community possible -- it truly takes a village to keep a nonprofit like Recovery Cafe San Jose afloat, and we pretty literally celebrate every single dollar that you offer in support of our mission and model. We know the transformative power of loving community - we see it every day - but we are in awe of you who have yet to visit and see the magic, and support us anyway. THANK YOU.
This year, with your support, we’ve served more than 40,000 nutritous meals, provided 1200 hours of small group support in 22 weekly Recovery Circles, and offered more than 400 people mental health and life skills through our School for Recovery curriculums. THANK YOU for being a vital part of our community, and for helping us spread light and hope during this season and beyond.

Holiday Gifts for Cafe Members
Each year we throw a Thanksgiving feast and Winter Holidays party for our Members, which for many will be their only holiday celebrations. Gifts -- normally new winter coats and shoes -- were easy when we had 100 members, and much more challenging at our current 218. Here are some gift ideas:

  • Sponsor 100 meals: $250
  • Sponsor all shoes & coats for Member gifts: $12,500 - $30,000

Recovery Cafe Operations
So many people ask how they can support the Cafe, we asked our team for their wish lists this year:

  • Gift cards for School for Recovery graduates $5 - $20
  • A linen service to support the kitchen & coffee bar: $60 per month

  • The Cafe's first-ever phone system: $500
